The heavy wind I never saw since I came here. At noon I just took a walk to the students center and library. Then I did some laundery. But something wrong with the washing machine, it couldn’t rinse. So I had to do by hands. At supper I ate two dry mushrooms and some bean flour sticks soaked with lily.At nine I felt itchy. When I took bath, I saw my waist and leg roots turned red. During night, I started to feel cold. When I woke, red squares and spots are full of my arms and legs. I went to see the doctor in Emergency and took medicine. But things got worse. So I had to quit the welcome party in Sue Day’s house and stay at home.The next day my legs and arms got whole red. On Sunday the red turned light, but my feet and hands got swollen. It took me a whole week to recover.During these days, the only thing I dare to eat is rice. Wenesday was Algeria’s presentation by Sihem. She prepared delicious Algeria’s cookies, they had special spices. But I only had a taste, then brought home. The mini spring rolls made of ground beef are good. The golden rice with squarsh and chicken also OK, but when I found the chicken was cooked with lamb, I had to stop. There are hill with colour trees. Just like a water-colour picture.When we turn to Seven Lakes Drive in New York City. We seemed going through the color. The lakes’ color like sky, and the trees-green, red, yellow, light or deep. The road in the woods is so quiet and the brooks along roadside is so active. Moving us so much, the Northeast fall!Bear Moutain is beside the Hudson River. And its zoo is just like China-somebody standing in front of the door persuading sightseer to stop and have a look.We had lunch at 东方Buffet in Hightland Falls. Then went to West Point. And we happened to see our friends there! It was them who told us to go to West point in Autumn!The scenery of Hudson Valley is moving. Mountains with beautiful dresses. The weather there is also changeable. We caught by heavy rain, sun rain and hail. Then it turned sunny during two hours. The trees, the grey strong buildings, the soldier with grey coat, that West Point!It’s Homecoming Weekend. On our way back, there was lots traffic. Chun drove along Rt. 9W and NJ Turnpike. But I attended the Ceramic Illuminating Pumpkin workshop. Although I’m in the waiting list, I got the chance.First we paint ceramic pumpkin with white. Then smooth it with brown oil. With the help of a bottle of solution the color gets much better. Then use a white cloth dipped orange to put on the pumpkin. After half of that comedy movie, we go to Johnson Park. It’s getting dark. There are so many real pumpkin laterns lighting the night.The cookies, especially the coconut ball, is so delicious, loose and sweet. The laterns are made of pumpkin. They emptied huge orange pumpkins, cut out the eyes and varies mouths, then put a candle inside. So interesting and romantic. Our storyteller is Katty. In the old school, there only one lamp (lighting by candle) in the window shelf. We can’t see clearly Katty’s face, only can hear her voice and the shadow of her body.
