Cheap noodle soup stands: Not easy to find, but worth itThese are not difficult to find if you are Thai or can read Thai. However, the average person traveling around does NOT know how to read Thai and since it is a ""1-country language"" that is completely acceptable. It took me years to learn how to read Thai and I am not suggesting that anyone try to do that My favorite is the noodles with pork and pig blood (just bear with me here) because it has a flavor that is just so distinct. I know the idea of eating blood sounds gross but honestly, just try a spoonful without knowing that it has blood in it and afterwards you will like it to.I found this spot because i decided to go on a long bike ride today and just find something cheap to eat. After 3 days of being trapped in my condo and having relatively expensive western food delivered to my room (because I had a badly sprained ankle and could not walk) I have decided to cut down on the expenses for at least a few days.This shop had very little in the way of English going on, there was a small sign at the front that indicated they had pork and beef noodle soup, but that doesn't really adequately describe what they have here. The girls working inside spoke very little English but I would imagine if you went in there and tried, they were very friendly and would definitely do their best to accommodate you.The colloquial term for this type of dish is ""boat noodle"" and you would have to ask a Thai person why that is because I have no idea. But the first 2 items on that sign say ""gwai deeo ruua moo"" Which just means boat rice noodles with pork. The second item says that same thing but with beef. While the ""blood"" aspect of my noodles of choice issn't actually on the menu at all, i took a chance that they might have it and they DID!There are a bunch of additives in little jars on the table and i reccommend that you take it easy with most of them because they tend to be quite spicy. I put nomally put a little bit of red chili flakes in mine, stir it up and test it. You can always go spicier, but you can't really take it out once it is in there.they also have these spicy fellas if you are feeling daring - I like the picked green chiliesCalling your establishment ""boat noodles"" is very common in Thailand and this particular place was called Buak Hard Boat Noodles or ""Gwai Dio Rua Buak Haard"" (good luck with that)This particular place was a tremendous value at 50B including a bottle of water and can be found here just don't expect it to be terribly evident and it may take a bit of searching.
