WOW!September 24, 2011Verified PurchaseThe Qinpu A-6000 MKII has got to easily rank as one of the top audiophile bargains of the century, given it's low cost and true high end, superior sonic quality. I received the item within a few short days, and it was boxed and protected very well (double boxed), with ample styrofoam-like packing surrounds. The amp itself looks and feels very well made, and clearly belies it's low price point for what you get. After hooking it up, and turning it on, I noticed blue LED lights, one behind each tube, blinking on and off. After about a minute or so, they stop blinking, which signifies that the amp's tubes have warmed up sufficiently to now use it. My bedroom system consists of the Qinpu with an Oppo DV-980H SACD/HDCD/CD/DVD 'universal' player, going into a pair of vintage Polk Audio studio monitor 10's (circa 1986 or so). Speaker cables are Silver Sonics T-14, and interconnects are Straightwire Symphony. I could not believe how great this amp sounded from the very beginning (and dead quiet too, when source material was not being fed it), with no 'break in' time on the stock tubes! After just a few hours of listening, the amp really started to 'bloom', with liquid warmth, resolution, and natural timbral accuracy matching amps that cost several times the Qinpu's price of admission. I was, and remain, absolutely dumbfounded at what I heard, no matter the genre of music I fed it. I can't wait to see what further sonic merits 'tube rolling' the unit's 6N3's may net in the near future (if anyone knows where to find NOS tubes for this Qinpu, please leave a comment here). Incidentally, the unit only gets slightly warm to the touch, even after a few hours of listening at healthy volume levels. I've now had this unit a few years, and use it almost daily, as music is a large part of my life. After all, I have several sound systems interspersed throughout my house. As of late, I have been running this Qinpu into a pair of very demanding, 6 ohm, 88dB SPL JBL Monitor 530 horn-loaded speakers for hours on end, and this amp has held up just fine. I get ample volume from the 10 o'clock to 11 o'clock setting, and excessive heat is not an issue.
